Bear's Little Sister

Our darling, precious healthy daughter Pearl Blossom Pullen arrived with a full head of hair on Valentines Day. She has shone light back into our lives.
It is a complicated notion to accept that Pearl is only here because our darling boy was snatched away. We can't imagine life without her, just as we couldn't imagine that Bear would never come home. Thankfully, our days are too filled with feeding and sleep schedules to over think the bigger picture.
She is just perfect. We are totally in love... Photos to follow.

  2. I am so, so happy for you! I know nothing will ever take away the sadness of the loss of your beautiful Bear (and in a way, I suppose, you wouldn't want it to) but I am so glad that his wee sister has brought happiness back into your lives. My losses were so much earlier and cannot compare with yours but, like your little girl, my little boy (a donor egg baby) would never have existed had any of those pregnancies ended well. It IS a hard thing to fathom - part of me still feels sad that we lost such a lot while another feels that I cannot regret anything that brought this amazing wee soul into my life. A much, much harder thing for you to get your head round when you have actually given birth and been a mother to two babies that would probably never have co-existed. Religious friends have suggested that our son was sent by his siblings to make us better again - I'm not religious, but it's a very tempting thought. Enough philosophy - welcome, Pearl!

  4. Congratulations, what a beautiful beautiful name :)

I too struggle with the 'bigger picture' sometimes, it is very hard to reconcile one being here because the other isn't. xxx

  10. many congratulations on your beautiful daughter.
like you my daughter wouldnt be here if my baby son had survived; she is a glorious handful at 7 now, and it does get easier to accept. i tend to think of all my children in my heart; it is not important when and why.

  11. I have never met you, so I have no idea why tears of relief are streaming down my cheeks as I type. I have been tense with worry for you so can only imagine how frightening the last nine months must have been for you - when it should be such a happy time. Still, can proverbially uncross my fingers now. Congratulations to you both on the safe arrival of Bear's little sister. Enjoy the chaos and the sleep deprivation! xx
